District managers typically have a span of control of 5-6 cafes with some locations being 24 hours and drive thru. The ability to each and model behavior representative of the Tropical Smoothie cafe brand is essential. Previous multi-unit restaurant experience is preferred but non restaurant experience will be considered.
Typical work weeks consistent of a schedule of 45-50 hours performed over various day-parts. District managers supervise their General managers and provide support in the areas of sales building, operational excellence, superior guest satisfaction and adherence to company standards.
A competitive salary based upon work experience is offered along with the option to participate in medical dental benefits plan after 90 days of employment. Required:
The ability to work all shifts (some locations are 24 hours). Arrange coverage (or personally cover) staffing shortages. Previous restaurant management or shift leader experience. Basic knowledge of office equipment—computer, , printers. The ability to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and employees. Possess exceptional customer service skills. Have the ability to speak, write, read, and understand the primary language(s) of the work location.
Preferred:
Experience with MICROS POS. Prior Tropical Smoothie Cafe (or other similar restaurant) experience.
In addition to following Tropical Smoothie Cafe's policies and procedures, principal responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Restaurant Manager (RM) sets and achieves the highest standard in all areas of restaurant operations including the employee experience, the customer experience, and financial results.
He/she will be responsible for supervising shift leaders and front line crew members at an assigned store. The responsibilities of this position will require the RM to be on their feet during hours worked.
Operational Leadership- Leading the team at an assigned location in successful day-to-day operations by being a role model of the standards and behaviors consistent with Tropical Smoothie Cafe's values and culture.
Team Development/Management — Follow established procedures for providing corrective and positive coaching, and making recommendations for pay rate changes, transfers, hiring, terminations, etc.
Management - Foster an environment of teamwork. Successfully communicating company changes/focus to the team. Ensuring that employee time records are accurate. Ensuring schedules meet the needs of the business so that a great customer experience is delivered.
Financial Performance —Ensure that all revenue is properly recorded and all cash drawers are reconciled daily. Managing food and labor costs in accordance with established goals.
